This 2 story home was built in the Canaveral Seashore Park in New Smyrna Beach in Florida. In 1970 the Federal Government purchased all the beachfront homes in the Park to restore the dunes to natural. All the residents were given a 30 year lease on their homes with the understanding that when the lease is up the property then belongs to the Park. In December of 2002, James and Camille Flankey purchased their home back from the government at auction for $110.00, relocated it to a lot 2 miles away and elevated it to a height of 11 feet to preserve their view of the Atlantic Ocean. The construction is frame on monolithic slab, measuring 32’ X 36’ and weighs 90 tons.
